Yes, that's right. Sadly, we have been pushed towards enforcing a different policy sooner than I would have imagined. While most of the members that are active in submitting to the group keep to the 'rules' as it were, there have been the few members that have managed to ruin the free submission policy for everyone else. No, this does not mean that nobody will be able to submit to the group. That, is not going to happen. You will all still be allowed to submit to the group, however, due to some issues they will have to go through the approval process.
All of you deserve an explanation as to why this is going on, and, as the co-founder of the group it is my responsibility to be as transparent as I can with all of you. We recently had a series of incidents where works were submitted to the incorrect folders, and also a string of works that were submitted did not show any indication of being majorly edited in Photoshop Elements, as it states on the home-page's custom widget box. When the artist was notified that they weren't meeting the criteria of the group, the task of doing our jobs was met with, regrettably, anger. One particular individual(who will not be named, by either myself or any of the other staff without explicit permission from the user in question, to protect their privacy.) responded most unfavorably, and quite overreacted to the fact that only one of their works was removed because it did not meet the criteria. I had gone through the gallery after I took my position here, and removed those that I felt did not meet the criteria, leaving those that I could tell were within the standards in the gallery. Rather than accepting this, the user proceeded to leave the group, and remove their submissions in a 'rage-quit' mentality. In response, we have decided to change the submission settings slightly, and it fell to myself to remind all of the users of the policy for submission.
Please submit your works to the proper folders
Make sure that tutorials submitted state either on the tutorial itself, or in the artist's description that it is for Photoshop Elements and the specific version.(previously accepted tutorials are exempt from this.) All works submitted to the Tutorials and Tips folder must clearly be a legitimate tutorial or tip or they WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED period.
To be considered a tutorial, a submission must contain specific instructions on a certain process or feature, whether it is how to draw something within the program or to create a specific artistic effect such as painting, or other explanations of how to create specific things within PSE. If it does not meet these criteria, it will be turned down.
Photographs that you submit must be edited majorly in PSE to be accepted. We're sorry, but, we are not a group to showcase your photos. We're just for the works, tutorials, and stock made for the program.
In case any of you are wondering, a 'major edit' in PSE to a photo is manipulating it in some way to increase it's interesting qualities, be it a color filter, changing the color of something(the original picture would be appreciated, to ensure that the work was edited.), or adding something that wasn't there(ie. superimposing or adding effects) originally. Things such as lightsabers and the like, for example.
We strongly encourage you all to continue submitting to the group. There are still a lot of things out there that need to be done for this program, and there are so many things that all of you know that would benefit each other greatly in the form of tutorials, resources, and even works of art created with the program. Without you, the movement for effective use of Photoshop Elements will fail.
